TREE INVENTORY

yey'tree is a cloud GIS solution for arborists, tree inspectors, and municipalities.

DIGITAL TREE CATALOG

Recording the locations of trees forms the basis for a digital tree catalog.

The initial recording of the trees is usually done through on-site surveys, drone flights, or digitizing existing plans. Often, this initial recording has already taken place. In such cases, the existing data must be verified, and new trees must be added or removed if they have been felled.

In addition to the locations, basic information about the trees, such as species, size, trunk circumference, age, etc., must also be recorded.

FLL TREE INSPECTION GUIDELINES

The Tree Inspection Guidelines are standards for tree inspections to ensure public safety. They apply to trees and tree-like shrubs that must be inspected due to traffic safety obligations.

The guidelines are primarily used for trees in urban areas, such as trees along roads, paths, squares, residential complexes, playgrounds, sports facilities, parks, kindergartens, daycares, schools, and cemeteries.

yey'trees uses the Tree Inspection Guidelines as the foundation for the recording and inspection of trees.

PURPOSE OF A TREE CATALOG

In developed areas and public roads, trees are often particularly at risk. They may exhibit defects that could potentially pose risks.

The owner of trees in public spaces is responsible for ensuring the traffic safety of the trees and is generally obligated to prevent damage to people or property caused by trees.

To avoid potential liability claims, regular inspections are necessary to detect tree damage early on and to implement appropriate measures.

TREE INSPECTIONS

The obligation to ensure public safety and the resulting requirement for regular inspections are based on various rulings by the Federal Court of Justice (BGH).

From this, it can be inferred that the requirements for checking traffic safety can initially be met through a purely visual inspection.

What is required is a careful external inspection of the health and condition of the tree from the ground. This inspection is referred to as a "professionally qualified visual assessment" in the Tree Inspection Guidelines and is fully supported by yey'trees.
